Suspension question.

I am thinking about loosing the coilys on my bora and using stings and shox for a softer ride. What I want to no is. 
Is mk4 golf suspension exactly the same as the bora or is there diferances? Like on the the rear or anything?

Its the same apart from 4mo's and tdi's have harder front springs
