I have to do it myself, if I take it anywhere I'm worried they will scratch the finish on my caliper when taking my wheels off because there's very little clearance between the spokes and the caliper. Most places don't bleed the calipers starting from the corner with the longest distance of line from the servo.

If so any tips?

Or do you just take it somewhere? understand they can be a biatch, and only one "success" on the How To in the maintenance section.

Quite strange this thread is on here as I bled my brakes about 2 hours ago. Changed front pads and pedal felt sponges after so I decided to bleed the brakes. Does. Feel abit spongey now but probly as pads need to bed in.

the golf system is no different to any other car, just for some reason it responds better to an eezi bleed kit.

ate superblue is canny cos you can see when youve bled the lines but theres been some reports of sqealing with this fluid, cant speak from experience here tho

make sure you do the clutch and the 2 bleed nipples on the side of the brake reservoir too

ive done 2 golfs so far and both were trouble free (wont mention the mk5 i attempted to fix after my mate had tried)

I always take it to VW as no one ever seems to get it right.

Speak for yourself you tart

Not had any problems using a pressure bleeding kit, just make sure you don't let the resevoir run dry and bleed the master cylinder as well and all is good

I got a quote from the stealers yday and they quoted £69.50 ( not sure if that was inc or exc VAT)

Rang a local garage and they said £50, I know where I'm going...after reading about bleeding the 2 under the reservoir in particular and some people missing them do you think it would be arrogant of me to mention it to the garage when I take it in?
