16v Ignition Control Module

I'm pretty sure that the ignition control module on the car I am rebuilding is faulty (If I tap it when the engine is running the car cuts out and its difficult to start).

My Kstar is connected inline with it and its doing strange things like losing its connection to the laptop randomly - again if I tap the module it comes back.

Does anyone know if what the compatibility is between different part numbers? Mine is: Bosch 191 905 351A

Sounds like a loose pin connector or faulty wire inside?

I have checked all the connectors and they all look ok, if I tap the module with my finger when the car is running, it cuts out, this is without moving any of the cables that are connected to it.

Does the module come apart, its probably just a DJ inside it?

Yes you need to crack it open as to how thats upto you?
Something is loose as to what? your guess is, as good as mine!

If it all goes wrong, well I needed a new one anyway, what's the worst that could happen?

Thats the thing about your car unless you do open heart op you will never know plus I don't see any point in messing about just crack it open test for loose connections and secure properly afterwards!

Are you sure these come apart?

I just took it off and had a look and other than smashing it, doesn't appear to be a seam that could be prised apart...

Anyone know the difference, if any, between modules that have the same part number but different letter at the end?
