Picked up GTI today
« on: 01 March 2012, 23:18 »
Sorry, no pics yet as I am waiting for someone to send them to me! It's had a full detail, I retrofitted RNS 510 today, half fitted LED interior bulbs, other half to be done tomorrow, there's a rattle from the passenger door which I will sort out tomorrow (rather me do it than the dealers!) and it's missing the tyre pressure monitoring system, even though it was ordered (100% confirmed) and billed by VW to the dealership, so gotta find out what they can do tomorrow. I don't want them to retrofit it as I don't see it as a massive problem. I tried enabling it using vag com in the hope it would show under DIS but nope! Also changed some vag com settings, like XDS to strong, brake assist to strong etc etc. Overall, pretty impressed!

Edit - some pics:

Oops!!!

Also I really, really like the GTI standard, the ride and handling is good, I'm used to an A3 on coilovers with uprated ARBs, WALK, bigger brakes etc but the GTI is nice. With a remap it will be perfect (for me)! The only reason I would lower it would be for looks, and I don't want to slam it, just a nice 20-30mm drop. But I am very tempted to just leave it. Time shall tell!

Na don't think they can, nor do I think Scott wants them touching it!

I just mean, I hope they can sort something else for him in replacement...

How do you find brake assist 2? I was thinking of doing this as I hate the standard brakes.

Yes i can concur on this as when i picked my ed 35 up yesterday i also thought it had no tyre pressure monitor but the button was in the glovebox above the airbag switch, you have to get right down to see it.
Very odd place to put it!
