called into vw bristol today to ask the cambelt question- i didn't know it was called the timing chain? anyway he said every 4 years and a typical service was £200.

The GTD has a timing belt, not a chain.

Current prices on VW website for servicing are;

- minor service £139, major service £259
- cambelt replacement £339, cambelt and water pump replacement £419

What MPG do you get?

As regards the service cost The Doc had his serviced last year and users were impressed with the price if you can search for that thread.
2010 Golf GTD (170) CBBB, 5 Door, Shadow Blue (P6/D5Q), Flat Tyre Indicator, Basic Protection Pack + VCDS.
