Cheers, I never normally like white alloys but i saw tims old mk2 on white rm's when i was buying mine and loved it. I think with them being split rims there's only a little bit of white and not the full wheel so it gets away with it, plus matches the car. (white on the wheels is brighter though!)

Got chrome bolts and new 12 point m7 nuts enroute from germany and also got a set of the discontinued chrome/white/grey bbs center caps. Not keen on gold detailing although i did fancy the red center caps at one point!

I think the red centres would match well with the red GTI on the side trim...

But you would need gold bolts to make it work...

I bought a set of brand new RM centres earlier this year £120.00 the set me then the seller bumped the price up to £180.00 as he found out they were disc.

I'm not keen on the gold bolt thing myself but they do look good on some cars, it's just not me sort of thing.

Not even sure I'm going to like the White centers but we shall see haha

Ended up deciding against White

Got the bits back from SEM today, a week earlier than I thought! Impressed with the results as a whole, just can't wait to get them on! Few random pics:

New proper 12pt m7 nuts etc

Cheers lads, spent most of yesterday afternoon building them all up properly then gave the seam another layer of sealant this morning. Few pictures:

All tucked up in the garage now with the mk2, the sealant was stinking the house out haha really happy I bought new nuts, finishes them off nicely. Also ordered some 8mm spacers for the rear from eibach. Just need to see if I'll need different types of bolts compared to what is on as standard (not sure if ra's/rs's are the same type)

Light is at the end of the tunnel!

Another boring one but i started on another area that bugged me tonight! The rear numberplate/ boot plinth bolts and number plate light bolts. The rear number plate had been put on too high and the bolts all had really corroded heads.

The bolts were abit of a pain to remove bit got there in the end. The plinth had years worth of grime behind and in it and also the rust off the bolt/screw heads had stained it. I set about cleaning all that off so it ended up looking clean again:

Next the number plate. God knows what sticky back foam had been used but it was a real pain to get off and then to get off the car boot itself! Got there in the end though:

Now I've ordered some NOS rear numberplate lights, some stainless screws to attach them and some stainless bolts to attach the boot plinth again, then I'll fit the plate back on in a better position.

Cheers for reading
