TDI 150 Boost Leak
« on: 28 February 2012, 18:00 »
As title, my PD 150 has a slight boost leak on the intercooler.

Would this cause any long term problems, or just a gradual increase in smoke as it worsens?

If it worsens it could send the engine into limp home mode, bring up fault codes but i dont think it would damage any components.

It is a PD and a ARL.
ARL is the engine model 110KW (150bhp)
PD stands for Pumpe Duse which means unit injector. Basically it has 4 high pressure fuel pumps (the injectors). Common rail diesels which have one pump, a pressurised common rail and and electric injectors.
I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

I'd get it sorted sooner rather than later before any further damage is caused i.e the lugs wear away and could cause damage to the connector housing
