voltage of dash lights?
« on: 24 May 2005, 11:06 »
Anyone know the voltage of dash lights?

I need to bridge off one of these for a backlit LCD screen, the screen needs 5V - if the voltage is more than 5V, what do i need to reduce it?

Also what is the best wire to splice into?

Cheers

Judging from a previous post, the voltage is 12V (i.e. the battery)

To get it down to 5V, you'll need an inline resistor (but don't ask me what Ohm you'd want, The supplier should help you out with this).
