running rich, smells and missis
« on: 28 February 2012, 11:00 »
i have a 2000 mk4 golf 1.8 20 valve turbo, when i drive the car it smells like it is running rich ,and some times it pops through the exhaust when i let of the throttle at slow speeds say second gear and i put my foot on the throttle again it feels like it missis abit as there is to much fuel being used, the car has a dump valve and air filter fitted.dont no if this is the problem as they were on the car when i bought it,was also told it had been mapped and chipped so how will i no if it has, does anyone no why it is running like this or what i could do to sort it.thanks ste

If you had a boost gauge you could see.

Keep the dv vslve, there alot better than standerd, n replace the air filter with a pipercross pannel filter n standerd air filter box
