Samsung Galaxy Y

Has any one got one, know someone that has one?

The girlfriend's iPhone 3Gs is so close to dying you'd wish euthanasia was legal.  It would be more fair to put it out of it's misery.  Now, she's even more of an Apple fan boy (girl?) than I am, so wants a new iPhone. Obviously the 4S is a bit rubbish, so she said she'd like to wait for the new model later in the year.

Thinking this Samsung Galaxy Y could be a good stop gap whilst she waits for the new iPhone.  Only £90 and she can pop her Vodafone sim straight into it.

Opinions?

Not too bad, would make a half decent SatNav / Custom ICE install after she's done with it

Can they be unlocked easily?  If so I'd definitely keep it after so I can pop my Orange sim into it when I'm going biking.

Only downside is Galaxy Y is not getting the ICS update, thats about it, otherwise its ok spec wise and plenty of custom roms.

It would just be a temporary phone until around September I suspect.

Some find it hard at first just a thought?

Well it is very similar to iOS, she shouldn't have that much trouble using it everyday, maybe a few teething issue at worst which I'm sure Nige could sort out

I sold my Galaxy S and bought an iPhone 4 to avoid me literally blending the damn Samsung to death

Get her to car phone warehouse and let her have a go at a few of the handsets!
How about Galaxy Ace another £30?
