how many miles before a mk4 golf 1.8t throttle body re adjust itself after removing and cleaning done about 18 miles and seems when you come to a stop and you press clutch down  it will rev about 1.300 rpm and slowly drop down to normal 800rpm its the AGU engine with cable

Not long.

Mine took about 50-80 miles if I remember correctly  :smiley:

+1 mine settled after about 40 miles

as said roughly 40 - 50 miles tends to sort it,

Ideally you should do a throttle body adaption via Vag com after any clean. Some cars dont drive very well or at all without it being done.

you tried the door open ignition, on method just to see if that helps?

Leave the drivers door open and turn the ignition on with warning lights illuminated but don't fire it up.

You should hear a buzzing coming from the throttle body, wait until it stops, then turn the ignition off and fire it up as normal. Might work for you, it did for me...
