it also has a VW factory fitted push start button as it was an ex mobillity car.

Would not be factory fit, someone has added that afterwards.

Ok fair enough..

If you get the car, I would be tempted to rip it out, they always give trouble plus can cause insurance hassles as they can affect the immob.

Should be yes, just trace the wiring back and remove as required.

to check the power steering fluid just unscrew the cap on the reservoir and it has a big dipstick on it, cap should be green and located next to the battery
