weighted gear linkage

Anyone  got a pic of a weighted rod fitted in a mk1, just got one from eBay and cannot see where it fits as its not long enough to go where it attaches to the gearbox lever, so im stumped

Is it the mk3 weight? Often they are fitted to mk2 valvers as an upgrade I believe due to it being a direct swap.  Although people advertise them saying they also fit mk1s, its a myth, they don't. People still fit them but they require modification.  I also have one that I intend to get sorted one day.

Not as bad as what I paid for mine with postage.  :lipsrsealed:

Surfing on phone at the moment but have a link saved on a PC somewhere showing what's required.  Basically its a case of welding new ends to to either side of the weight. 

Neuspeed made one specifically for the mk1 but look at the fooking price of it!

Thanks but that's not the problem here, this is about adding the weighted shift rod from a MK3 to a MK1.  :wink:

i have one in mine... i'll take a pic later on if I get a chance...

Mark (veedubgti16v) very kindly fabricated one for me.. its ace and has improved the gear shift feel 100%  :cool:
