Bluetooth audio
« on: 24 February 2012, 17:19 »
Hey guys,
I drove my Dad's brand new Ford Focus lastnight. Dare I say it on here, it's a very nice car!

Anyway, I played around with the Bluetooth settings and I noticed that the song info (artist, song name, etc) came up on the display when using Bluetooth Audio, from my iPhone 4. In my GTD, I only get "Bluetooth Audio" displaying on the RNS / MFD.

I'm guessing that the Ford system is more up to date than mine, or perhaps a more sophisticated (premium?!) bluetooth system. I'm wondering if it's possible to do some kind of firmware upgrade to make the VW Bluetooth display audio track info? I'm guessing it's a non-runner !

I have the premium unit but have not tried using my phone as an mp3 player through it - I'll try it and let you know

Thanks Doc. I read someplace else that it's a limitation of the RNS rather than the bluetooth. Maybe a firmware upgrade on the RNS would (or will in future?) enable it!
