bad mis- fire on cold start
« on: 23 February 2012, 14:08 »
Hey guys, my gti has never felt right since changing my maf, its a new genuine bosh one, and since changing it I have taken the cone filter off and now have a standard airbox on and it runs much better. Bit this morning it misfired badly on cold start and feels like it has no power under 2k revs! After 2 k its fine and boosts up well! No fault codes present, any ideas would be great!

Your MAF could be a faulty new one not unknown for that to happen - if the TB doesn't help try unplugging the MAF to see how it runs with it disconnected (it will throw a code when you disconnect it)

I already had one faulty maf! I'm sure it was the stupid cone filter ruining them, hence why I have an oe airbox now, maybe the cone had already damaged the new maf before I put the airbox on yesterday?
