Golf Mk4 ECU Issue
« on: 23 February 2012, 10:17 »
Hi Guys, wonder if you could guide me? I have owned a diesel (03 plate) 150bhp GTi from new and recently have had a problem with the abs light coming on. I took it to my local garage (non VW) and they tell me everything as far as sensors/pump etc is fine but they are getting fault up for ECU.
They tell me it has to go to VW for further diagnosis and probable ECU renewal, any ideas/thoughts welcome?
I also have developed an aircon fault prior to abs could this be linked?
Thanks

Mine comes on occasionally and it's due to an intermittent poor connection with one of the ABS sensors, like Wazzzer said you need to get it properly scanned. Where abouts are you located?
