Hi. I'm hoping for a little bit of advice. I've currently got a MK 16V 2.0 GTI and am looking around at getting a Diesel Golf Anniversary MK4. I've found one for sale for around the £3,9k (130,000 miles on the clock and in mint condition with 12 months MOT and 10 months tax) mark but my main concern is the amount of money that's been spent on it in the past few years.
Obviously it's better that somebody else has had to fork out this kinda money but does this look like a normal thing that I could expect to spend every year. The details…
All of the below was spent at Audi and VW garages
2006/07: £900 spent on tyres, 80,000 service, power steering pipe etc
2008: £1,700 spent on two services, tyres, fuel pump track rod arms, vacuum pump, brake pads etc
2009: £1,600 spent on service, cambelt and tensioner, brake discs and pads etc
2010: £1,200 spent on two services, cambelt kit, water pump, alternator, front discs, pads etc
2011: £350 on service, engine flush, diesel treatment
The car's only had 2 owners from new and is a 2002/52 year.
Any thoughts, help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
