QTR bills Gas and Electric don't trust estimates!
« on: 21 February 2012, 15:31 »
Well got an email saying
GAS = £470 ESTIMATE
ELEC= £250 ESTIMATE

Did a reading stuck the little numbers in and bill changed to
GAS = £215   :lipsrsealed:
Elec = £77    :lipsrsealed:

I've been conned by these people when I paid direct debit before had over 1.5K in credit becuase my DD was never adjusted, my advice give a reading and DO NOT PAY MORE THAN YOU NEED!!!!  :angry:

If they have no data they will always make up insane figures... I have always given readings at the end of every month so they have no reason to do anything but give me a realistic bill.

It's an estimate. You provided real figures, the bills were changed. NO CON OCCURRED   :kiss:

Because they said by the time winter comes around it would be used up  :grin: But I argued you take the stupid amount every month based upon your figures!! So I'll be in credit with you of 1.5K every year! :grin:
At that stage I made them pay me back with interest! So I now pay every QTR via post office!
It’s easy for people to be complacent and trust everything is okay!
People losing their jobs getting into debt and rising utility bills so why should people pay more than they should?

Utillity bills out strip Mortgage payments these days!  :wink:

Your advice was to provide readings, did you not do that until now?

OBVIOUSLY NOT.. I THINK HE IS ADVISING THAT WE DO NOW
So I now pay every QTR via post office!

why not just make an online payment and save yourself a lot of hassle... utils supplies often have direct links with banks now to make payments easier.. or pay using a phone app

 :rolleyes:

What made you wait until you were £1500 in credit before raising this with them?
