kinda new to vw as had a type r last car. dont curse me :)
whats all the different between rns etc i have no clue all help appretiated

I too am a newbie, but I beleive the RCD is the six disc changer with the nice colour screen and the RNS is the sat nav edition - not sure if that has a disc changer or coffee making facilities but it will get you to Asdas

What type r did you have? I had the breadvan and still miss it to this day. As basic as a climbing frame, but god what an engine..!

Is it? I thought it was for the integrated factory Bluetooth?

Jim

No definitely not for Bluetooth, it's for GPS
If you retrofit an RNS you need to stick a GPS antenna somewhere under the dash

No you don't mine is retrofitted and I don't have a sharks fin either.

If you don't have a shark fin then you will need a GPS antenna under the dash/on top of the RNS unit/above/below the air vent, somewhere around there, otherwise you simply won't get a GPS signal....
