No definitely not for Bluetooth, it's for GPS
If you retrofit an RNS you need to stick a GPS antenna somewhere under the dash

I had factory fit bluetooth on my A3 S-Line and that had the fin on it and i didnt have Sat Nav.

The newer factory-fit Bluetooth system (the non-rSap, that is iPhone compatible) does not use a sharkfin aerial. My Bluetooth is factory fitted and I've no sharkfin. I subsequently retro-fitted an RNS, and I put the GPS aerial behind the vents. Works perfect.

I'm not too keen on the shark fins........so glad that Bluetooth doesn't come with one !

Silly question time - the black sharks fin on the roof - is that for the sat nav part of the RNS510??
