Fitting Coilovers DIY Style
« on: 20 February 2012, 19:56 »
hay Chaps, im shore this has been coverd plenty of times... but how hard is it to acturly fit Coilovers?

i have a basic idea on how to fit them, im pretty good with tools, have time, and love a challenge.

iv had a few mates offer me to let thm do it for a few quid, but tbh id enjoy just to try and fit thm myself over a weekend or sumit.

im going to buy the FK AK Streetline Coilovers, there like 180quid. Perfect for starters i thought.

Any help much appreciated and any links i can follow to?

Thanks Phil

Pretty easy, there is a guide somewhere if you have a search. It took 2 of us less than 2 hours to fit mine yesterday, as for hints and tips....you might need a spreader tool to help remove the front struts, the nuts at the top of the front struts requires an allen key through a socket or a special tool.

Finally if your lowering more than 50mm your arb will rub on the driveshaft, the easiest way to cure this is with an arb from a TT/R32/S3 which goes under the driveshaft.
