20 MPG :-(
« on: 22 May 2005, 23:07 »
My mate has a 92 gti 8v with 140k on the clock and all he is getting is around  20 Mpg. He doesn't thrash it and it seems to start and run well. Im gonna check the ign. timing when I get a chance to see if thats one of the reasons,I checked the plugs and air filter today and they are both ok.

Are there any other reasons for this low mileage per gallon ?

Thats well below par..........somewhere between 150 min and 200 max I would have thought would have been more realistic on £20 worth of petrol.
