Idle tickover judder 1.8t GTi
« on: 22 May 2005, 22:05 »
Only had my golf 1.8t gti 99 a week and ive noticed a juddering when the car is ticking over almost like its gonna stall, a quick blast on the accelerator clears it but as its coming back down, it passes 1000rpm and starts to judder again consistantly at idle. its the first time ive experienced it but also when driving it felt like i was in too high a gear (similar judder) but i definately didnt need to change down. Ive read quite a bit about MAF sensors playing up, does this sound like the culprit? im running optimax and it was only serviced by the stealers in feb @48000, only done 1500 miles since Feb 2004 service! Any info appreciated

Yeah most likely to be the MAF on its way out

dunno iam miffed, car hasnt lost any power, drives lovely, just has a dodgy idle, if i put the air con on it tries stalling and has stalled on a roundabout.

Iam taking it to sanspeed in a few weeks see if they can figure it out  :undecided:
