WHICH IS THE BEST PRIMER TO USE?????

hi wonder if you guys can help me please i got a second hand r32 rep bumper in fiberglass with  2 cracks in it i have done all the fiberglass repair prep ready to primer im just not sure which would be the best primer for fiber glass and for the paint saten silver???

id start with a high build filler primer to fill any pin pick holes that might be in it wouldnt use acrylic primer though.

If the bumper is relatively rough, and has plenty of repairs, I would strip of any existing paint, finish the fiberglass prep with 120 grt paper, then give the whole thing 3 coats of "Polyester spray filler" this will easily fill any pinholes, and any other sins for that matter, once dry, guide coat the polyester, and dry sand only 320 grt paper (Polyester must not get wet if possible) You now should have a perfect base for 3 to 4 coats of 2k Acrylic high build primer, Lesonal "Green" 2k primer is ideal for what you would want, and is easily sanded with 800 wet/dry ready for paint...

If you're confident about your prep work, just skip the Polyester process, and replace it with a couple of coats of Etch/Wash primer, this will help promote adhesion for the primer to the fiberglass

great advise thom thanks just one more thing please where is the best place to get this from the primer that is sry for asking noob  stuff this is my first time at doing eny body work ive all ways wanted to do it so thought why not got the bumper really cheap so not a big loss if it all go wrong fingers cross it turns out good  :smiley:
