Can some one please explain to me the difference between the K04-01, K04-15, K04-22, K04-23?

I know the K04-15 is for the passat type longitudinal engine, and infact "apparently" does not exist and is a re-worked mash up of the K04 and a new casing to make it fit.... Something like that anyway, because to be fair the longitudinal engine never had the K04 and it is a different fit, so makes sense. As for the other codes... no idea
