Q. Incorrect odometer reading entered on Test Certificate

A. If the error is noticed within one working day of the vehicle test, the Testing Station that carried out the test can amend the details and issue a Replacement.

(The MOT Testing Guide - H4.9b.(iii)).

After this time the error will need to be referred to the VOSA local Area Office for investigation

I'll give VOSA a bell tomorrow, number looks to be 0870 60 60 440.  Might find out who to complain to about a garage as well.

CORRECTION:

As of 2007:

http://www.motuk.co.uk/images/SpecialNotice02-07.pdf

With effect from 4 March 2007, the ‘one working day rule’ for issuing replacement VT20 certificates
for an incorrect odometer reading will change.  From this date a replacement VT20 may be issued
with the correct odometer reading within seven calendar days of the test completion. The MOT
Testing Guide (Section H4, paragraph 9, b, (iii) on page 4) will be changed at the next available
opportunity.

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

complaining to ATS probably won't result in much.  Probably just tell VOSA instead, as well as them saying they wouldn't chang eit because it didn't matter.  Also mention I'm annoyed that add silly things to the list of advisories.

Report them to VOSA, they will get into big trouble if they have refused to correct their mistake..
