F%cking car, I f%cking hate it.

Can anyone tell me if I can replace the metal water pipe that is secured by the same mount as the starter motor. If so, is it a job a one legged numpty can do?
Also, is the sensor that I think is for the oil as it, or was, attached to the cast housing that the oil filter screws into at the very front of the engine, replaceable? Again, if so, is it a job a one legged numpty can do?

Ta.

The metal pipe I'm talking about is to the extreme right of the pic.

The sensor is the brass spade on top right of the housing the oil filter screws into.

And, would the sensor being broken account for the car not starting?

What's up with the sensor? From you post sounds like its coming loose. If that's the case check the thread  on the sensor and housing. Sensor is am easy job to replace, might even have a spare one knocking about. Just don't over tighten it when screwing back in. If the thread on the housing is knackered it'll meed replacing.

i remember one bolt holding the metal pipe to the front engine mount. You can see the welded nut on the right of the oil filter housing.

Not the best jobs but cutting the old one out makes life easy. Find a replacement pipe first!!

All the sensors ontop of the oil filter housing can be replaced.

I've changed the metal water pipe on an 8v it was a bit awkward but okay with the oil filter removed. I think replacements for the 16v are hard to find.
