Pics? I love the old mk1 rabbits, something about them that is just so "kooky" about them.

I will be looking for a passat estate or audi over summer to use as the workhorse for the winter, the old girl is being taken off the road and worked on.

The V5 passat is a good engine if you don't like the diesels! not too thirsty but much smoother and more low down torque than a 1.8t

... it's turned into a fashion show for poofters.

ok engine is same but it has a derv manifold & zorst is what we have found since it started blowing. Have disconected the air con but still slow!

It has side impact bars in the door etc witch doesn't help with the weight.

Ours is very slow compared to a uk spec mk1

so are we thinkin that a 4 branch would liven it up, or at least a standard gti manifold?
someone once suggested that the cam is not as performance based on the rabbit is that a load of bull?

yep a 4 branch or standard gti would do the job.

I haven't heard that about the cam before.
The USA didn't want to restrict the performace but they did want to restrict the emmusions in a big way!

i'm suffering a bit with the rabbit raining in.
its fine if parked nose down, but if faceing uphill the rear shelf and headlining get soggy is this a common fault with mk1 gtis?

was offered 650 for it in service station as rich will tell you on our way to BVF
There is a few pic's on the forum somewhere, under the guildford meet.
It has the 1/4 windows in which we all know are worth 300 ish on there own, but if you can find soem green glass i am happy to sell cheaper without the quaters, it has a zender and a BBs back spolier.
It is in good condition for its age, done 85ishK  owner before me it is original nothing has been touched or changed, a bit of rust on the front wings, I was going to change them but never got round to it.
