Driveshaft CV Joint to Flange Gasket

My driveshaft on my mk3 gti 16v decided to disconnect itself from the gearbox flange thanks to the bolts working loose but i cant see a part ref for the cork sealing gasket ? anyone know it or anywhere i can pick them up from thats not in a kit with the boot etc

As it doesnt come in a kit with the CV joint

cork sealing gasket ? :undecided: not heard of this.

aye it goes between the cv joint and the flange on the gearbox mate...been told on another post dealer may have them even thought cant get a part ref from etka

There is a rubber flange that comes with the CV joint set, but never heard of a cork one.  :undecided:

Yes its cork,  was changed to rubber or from rubber in 95 iirc,  after market ones vary, either way its a single use item as they generally fall appart.

What i do is clean it all up, apply liquid gasket and refit.   You can also buy gasket paper and cut your self one, but you might need to take the shaft off for a template.
10 golfs and counting! 

Engine cranes = the ultimate tool to test the tensile strength of Everything you didn't disconnect!

Rmachines-cheers mate mines fell apart with bits missing, never thought of using something like liquid gasket or getting some cork/gasket paper
