headunit getting no power

hi guys recently got my mk3, it had an aftermarket stereo in it already which worked fine.

got all my audio stuff from my last car i wanted to install so i removed the stereo from the car, plugged my one in and now if have no power to the headunit. plugged the old one back in and that doesnt work anymore either :s

any ideas on what to do ?

any idea what fuse ? wont be the one on the headunit as that would mean they both went, which seems unlikely
