how do i make my own car

Hi peps i've seen on here pictures taken from this game like mk3 golfs being customised. I'm not very used to consoles and have just got myself forza 4 but i wanna start modding how do i do it  Do you have to finish the game before you get all the cars? cheers

There's a section for tuning cars. Look under upgrades. There you can choose performance upgrades as well as visual and also paint/decals.

You buy the cars with credits that you earn by winning races or you get given free cars for winning enough races to level up and certain other acheivements. The easiest way of making credits is by doing the online rivals modes if you have xbox live. As for modding the cars, thats in the upgrades section. Personally I find the vinyl creation bit boring but if it floats your boat then its relatively easy.
