Liverpool FC today released a statement confirming their players would wear black armbands and observe a pre-match one minute silence this weekend for Jessie Paisley, wife of former club manager Bob, and international singer and actress Whitney Houston, both of whom passed away last week.

The statement said: "Liverpool FC would like to confirm that the club will be arranging a moments reflection and remembrance for two wonderful women who did so much for football and soul music.

"We have been working closely with the Paisley and Houston estates who have both welcomed our support and we would ask supporters of both Liverpool and Brighton to join us in celebrating the lives of one woman who gave so much support to a legendary manager of Liverpol, and another who gave us such classics as 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody'."

Gold hearse. Gold coloured Coffin.

A big "W" in the back window.

Death is always tragic and different cultures express their grief in different ways. I respect that.

But...it's just a tad tacky.
