A tad harsh I would say... Yes she was a druggie. However that was only part of her life, and she did plenty to warrent her success before that period of her life.

Being one of the biggest selling female artists of all time... and a soldier that dies doing what he is paid to do, I think its clear which news the general public prefer to discuss, despite what we may all think thats the reality of the situation.

RAF Regiment Gunners, Army Infantry, or the Royal Marines know that they are putting themselves in danger by doing what they do, that's purely down to our Government.

Whitney Houstons' demise was down to her own stupidity.

Her, Amy Winehouse, Elvis and anybody else who has led a rich and successful life but then wasted it with drugs doesn't get any respect from me, or will I batter an eyelid or shed a tear at their death.

Some might disagree and we are all entitled to our opinion, but I believe any soldier who dies for this country should be given the respect to at least have one day on the front page of the paper, he paid the ultimate sacrifice yet someone who is selfish and takes their own life with no regard to those around them take the headlines.

I don't want to get into the arguements of whether the war in Afghanistan/Iraq was right or wrong, I would like this country to stand by its soldiers and pay the right respects to those who do die in the line of duty. The worst thing was, the story was not about Whitney herself, but about her poxy album sales.

Got to admit both the BBC and Sky have gone overboard with the coverage today , yes show the funeral, but do both of them need to show over 4 hours of it?

I kept turning over from 4pm onwards to see what has been going on today, only to keep seeing non stop coverage of the most embarrassing sing song of a funeral.
