Ebay powerchip verdict
« on: 11 February 2012, 15:53 »
Before power/torque

Before power/AFR

After power/torque (sorry for bad pics, scanner isn't working)

After power/AFR

9hp increase! The chip is the only modification I've done since the previous dyno run. Results are quite clear. Graph is smoother and torque and power is more linear, with torque getting a very nice boost after 4500rpm. Those who know (Glen, I'm looking at you especially), what can you tell me from the AFR of the new output? Is it running lean/rich at any point in the range?

Looks like that chip is some kind of amplifier. It's just made the fuel richer in a few places. Optimum a/f is 13 and it's not far off. The lower than 13 at the start or the graph would be for emissions.

Yeah MPG has been better ever since fitting the chip. Only while cruising though.

Is that this chip?

Yup, as all chips are written with the same map. I wonder why RJ only got 6hp though?

Oh yeah, and this also proves drilled/cut airboxes do NOT make you lose power!

In regards of RJ's results I'd assume that would be down to different variables on the day, temperature, fuel used, engine health, tyre pressures, dyno set up etc etc
