Hi
Long story short, the home button was not working so decided i would replace it with a new one, albeit a white one
on a black iphone 4
Now, that was the easy part, fitted all of it back together, and when it came to the battery i put it in and i saw
smoke
Took to battery out immediately and noticed a screw was lodged into the battery and shorted the innards, the screw belonged to the rear cover at the bottom of the iphone
Replaced the battery today and the screen is messed up, all the buttons are in the right place but i cant see it, so
thought lets back it up, loaded up itunes and it said the phone is locked, so was able to unlock it by knowing where
the buttons are displayed
Success in backup
Now take a look at the pics below:

Ignore the water on the battery, it thought it would explode so chucked it outside on the snow

Touch works, i can received and place calls so guessing the logic board is ok
Any ideas?
Thanks
