Was just about to smite you down for claiming such things.

Tbh i would have an 16v as i feel they are the better car to drive and own. Plus a 16v will quite happily drive in 5th at 2500rpm and not give you a worry and return good economy.

If you now the right places, things are not that greatly varying in price and they are both just as easy to maintain as each other.

Petrol, humm depends on how you want to do it, i personally see no gains whatsoever from running on optimax, i do however see the hole in my wallet get larger. I just place a Petrol treatment in the tank every few tankfuls and it keeps the motor running sweet as a nut.

Therefore my onus is on 16v.

How long until this develops into the old 8 valves are crap - no there not, they are better than 16 valves cause of the creamy torque bollocks?

Here we go again....

Maybe we should have a sticky post saying that to judge this you should drive an example of both cars and make up your own mind.....

Simple opinion.

The guy asked which is more desirable. Correct me if i am wrong, desirability depends on personal opinion, all that is being given is personal opinion and experience.

AS per my post.

If you want to start getting angry that the true fact is that a 16v will out perform a 8v in all aspects then thats fine.

As for desirability its personal preferance not which has more torque or accellerates faster. f**k sake.

16v isn't better just because it has a better engine or is more powerful or is faster.

it has an altogether better set up, firmer and lower suspension and there are a whole host of other things that make it a better car.
