Ticking noise on overrun
« on: 09 February 2012, 16:57 »
Hi guys

Noticed the last couple of days a ticking noise on overrun when slowing down mainly, but sometimes at about 2 - 3k revs

Its coming from around about the area where the the gear stick is don't quote me.

Its like a plastic ticking noise and it slows down when you slow down.

Its not there when under load.

My gut instinct is saying bearing of some sort but i may be wrong

Any ideas?

My last 8v used to have a ticking kinda sound around that sort of rpm, it turned out after loads of inspections to be a hairline fracture in the exhaust manifold.
