Hi folks,,,just saying hi, as im now a gti owner!
Been reading up on here prior to my informed purchase, and decided to go ahead with the 2.0, despite all the critiscm it seems to attract on here.
Gotta say im glad i went with it. Plenty fast enough for me, im no boy racer, and its the girlfriends main car. But its nippy as hell, and loves the open motorway roads too!
Its done 100k, 'W' 2000 year, pretty sure its had 3 sensible owners, so unabused, has fsh, had cambelt, water pump, clutch changed, and ive taken into garage today to get alternator belt replaced as that looks pretty shot!
So we're now a dual VW household, with the Golf sitting nicely beside 08 T5
