Is it wirth bothering with changing the steering rack for a quick rack
Of a TT/S3/R/LCR??

From threads I have read on the Skoda forum it makes a lot of difference but will make the steering heavier.

I wouldnt be two concerened about heaver steering, if you want to know about heavy steering speak to the non pas mk2 and mk1 boys  :smiley:

I wouldn't go that far.  Some cars have excellent PAS with speed sensitive weight and feedback...  I suppose early PAS can be like a POS.  :grin:

you own a mk3 tho, pas or no pas its not going round any corners fast.


in a mk2 i rate pas over non pas.    the non pas racks are to long. and pas helps you react faster to catch the car when it twitches, there is a penalty of some feel but there is plenty left.  a faster pas rack is allways a good idea imo

manual quick racks can get a bit much  if driveing any distance
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

Oh yes - it's in the news daily that accidents take place where power steering is highlighted as the cause.
