at my last interveiw i got asked 3 questions, first one i just came out and said i dont understand what you mean and cant answer the question, second one i said i didnt know (which he then explained a bit to me, and i then understood) the third i was able to answer (just), we then sat and talked about rugby for half a hour.

im now working for him.

I agree you never know, i had to have 2 interviews & psychometric test for the job i am in now, i knew the first interview had gone ok but not great but also misunderstood the test so had to return later that day to complete it again lol obviously i didn't read the instructions correctly !

2 nd interview i thought was 50/50 but didn't think i would get it so was very happy to get the call a week later, still here 4.5 years later.

As you said even if you don't get it the interview is good experience

Dude,  sorry to hear that you think it went bad but as said, don't write yourself off yet...  Been in exactly the same position.  Went for an IT job I wasn't qualified for, started with simple technical questions that I knew the answers to but gave the wrong ones!...  Opened my mouth before thinking.  Also had hard questions I didn't know the answers to.  Beat myself up after the interview but was offered the job a week later because of previous experience, positive attitude, interest and the fact I apparently demonstrated promising capability. Mugs!    Joking, I proved them right.

Sounds like they need this position filled immediately, so are just putting anyone who has put a CV in forward (within reason) so you may still get it, dont write yourself off yet, you obviously had skills they would like within this role.

incorrect, one position needs to be filled by december.

this thread has helped, only thing i'm struggling with is what questions to ask, i've found info on the company, but I don't have any questions to ask as the information on the website pretty much gives me what i want to know

it's an apprenticeship with 3 years training, then turn into employment, I will ask about holiday entitlement, also possibly going to ask about available overtime and weekends

Questions like that can only make you seem keen and not work shy.....
