NovaTech laptops
« on: 05 February 2012, 12:40 »
What are these like? I'll be budgeting around £500, all I need it for is music and the internet, and maybe the odd film if traveling. And it has to be pretty fast, hate slow things!

Going for novatech as it seems like they dont have a name attached to their prices, and I dont need anything fancy.

I have one. I have a black edition.
Amazing value for money, support and equipment.

They all look stylish and are fast a hell, for under £500 i have got 8GB ram, 2GB Nvidia 555GT, 2.4Ghz i5 and 15" LED screen, with a battery life of over 5 hours, plays BF3 on high settings :D

Similar specs for Dell are a much higher cost :)

I rate them 10/10 to be honest :D

Cheers for that mate, turns out my brothers got one lol! I'll be picking one up this week then, got a depot here in Portsmouth.

This seems to be in my price range http://www.novatech.co.uk/laptop/range/nspire2760.html and as the one you show is a gaming laptop wouldn't I lose other stuff over a laptop that isnt a gaming one. I dont think I'll ever play a game on it tbh.  I'd also like it looking sleek :)

That one looks good tbh :)
I just went for a gaming one as I play games a lot, and I'm on the move a lot :D
The gaming ones a just a bit more expensive versions of base models, with upgraded graphics and sometimes faster hard drives :)

Got my laptop tonight, bit peed off at nova tech though, I nearly bought a laptop with i5 but they didnt mention that for £50 more I can get one with the  i7. As its brand new what stuff should I get to protect it and keep it at it's full rate. I've got mcafee on my desktop but dont think I can transfer the 11 months ive got left on that onto here!

Is there some sort of little sub I can plug into my latop, I saw your alex and it had the built in sub, but was out of my price range, sounded sweet though, mines proper tinny lol

lol, Yeah I think you can get a USB sounds dock thingy which has a bass booster :)
I would get Avast Anti Virus, Its free but probably better than Norton etc :)

Mines an all right size, for what it packs anyway, what one did you go for in the end?

mcafee and norton are the antichrist. get rid of those and install eset smart security 5. Also get yourself a copy of tune up utilities 2012. this is all you'll need for trouble free computing (watching scat porn)
