It's free money.
Chop the cat off and weigh it in.
Take off all the bit I can sell. And scrap it me thinks.

You would probably get more money for it as a cheap runner Stainsy.

I am quite partial to them myself, I had a late 90s Rover 200 Diesel before my golf, folks can say what they want about them....mine plodded away for 2 years with no maintenance (and up to 171k on the clock from 130k) with the only issue with it being a perished fuel return pipe. £25 fix.

If its had its head gasket done properly at any point (with evidence to suggest so), get the door and the clutch done and bang it out, should see a decent return on it. Mate of mine broke and scrapped one of these recently and saw less than £500 back, good chance you would make that and more....

its worth about £500 fixed

its worth about £150 scrap

take the usefull bits off   like the battery and scrap   that way you get money for next to no effort.  if your lucky you'll see an extra 250-300 for it fixed but that means throwing effort at it , then finding someone to buy it
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

I reckon youd get £500 for it whatever state its in, well, within reason. Theres plenty of people on the MGR forum that buy em for that sort of cash needing work.

As said, they dont break for much, probably around £400 if the seats and bumpers (all the ZR specific parts) are in good nick.

Your wrong! as I'd have one and about £1200 would be what I'd pay for that year, so that's not no one, I have been called a nobody before you all start with that argument  that is all.

Current cars 1995 Golf gti colour concept 2.0 8v 156,000 miles. bmw 316 1.9 129,000. yeah, life's good!
