Who's feeling smug then?
« on: 05 February 2012, 11:29 »
Anyone else with snow tyres? Put mine on at the start of December and up until now thought that they'd been a waste of money....they've come into their own these last 24 hours though :smug:

My car is parked up down a private lane which is on a bit of an incline, I watched a bloke trying to get his volvo out earlier which resulted in a lot of swearing and failure. Brushed the snow off mine, go in put the heaters on full and cruised past feeling very smug :smug:

No winter wheels on but still able to get up hills with common sense and not hit anything like some of the morons down the road, or better yet maintain 70mph easily on motorways without swerving and I'm just running mid performance summer tyres

I used the clio with winters on just the front (continental snowstorms). Managed about 60miles of suburban driving yesterday. Went past almost everything inc 4x4's parked up at the side of the road.

On the negative side i did experience 2 bouts of snap oversteer.  Which both resulted in 180 degrees spins ending up on the other side of the road.

Great for "turning around in a cul-de-sac though  :lipsrsealed:
