Temp gauge not moving
« on: 04 February 2012, 13:19 »
Hi all, i'm new to the site and need some advice. My temp gauge hardly moves even after long journeys and there is hardly any heat from the heater. Also when idling the car judders and feels like it's going to stall sometimes.

 I have a mk4 golf 1.8 gti aum engine

Thanks for any advice

Sounds like the thermostat my be sticking open slightly. Does the engine temp rise when the car is stationary and drop when being driven?
