I no its been asked ALOT 130vs150?
« on: 02 February 2012, 19:25 »
Yeah i know its been asked alot but i just wanted a separate post.

Im looking to sell my 2.slow soon and purchase a diesel. I love a leon tdi 150 but there out of my price range.

Will have around £2500 £3000 very max,i want a properly rapid diesel as i dont like to hang about, which ever i choose it will get mapped.

Right i want a 150 but ive heard they have so many problems but if i got a 130 id feel like im missing out! Come on help me out and give me a good reason to go for the 130 !

Cheers lads

There is no reason to go for the 130. 150 all day.

his 130 is now running 172...and has been fine for the last 6 months no issues... id go 130 all day just for the hassle iv heard about the 150's

i've had both.

130 is a good choice (i've had 3 cars with that engine)

but i wanted anniversary so 150 it is - i get 48 mpg most weeks and 55 on a run and it's mega quick
running a remap and exhaust. But be warned. Push too much torque and your clutch will not last

My last one lasted 4000 miles (3 months....)

other that that had no problems at all. Make sure the service history is spot on
any signs of wrong oil and any PD engine will slowly die.

i love bhp but, due to the 150 cam issues, i chose the 130, and i love it total anniversary lookalike minus headling.
but the choice is yours.

I took my rocker cover off the other day to check out mine and I had minimal wear and little to worry about after 120k, as I understand with the cams luck is involved...

The cam shafts are the same regardless if it's a 150 or 130  :lipsrsealed:
