as for the remap i like what i have read and heard about jabba sport so will give them a try, he reckons a full day on the rollers to set it up total £475 inc vat didnt think this was to bad.

to be honest if this is going to be costly to get repaired i may break it and start again

Whereabouts are you Mate......I always have trouble trying to connect Vag Com to my car but I have a fault code reader which is miles easier and should get codes unless the aforementioned fuses need changing.

update, towed it to a local garage this morning after 2 hours of investigating they found it was getting fuel and there was a spark all they could find was there was a signal from the crank sensor to the ecu but nothing back out of the ecu, there conclusion is the ecu is at fault they are saying they can have it sent away to be checked and repaired if there is a fault. My question is does this sound like it could be the problem? if i buy another ecu with matching numbers will it plug in and work i know i will have to get the key coded but apart from that will it be ok?

So the tuner who couldn't do it told you the AUQ had a standard 150bhp ECU in there?!

Alarm bells are ringing Willy...

do you get a flashing key icon on the dash while you try starting it?

You can't just plug another ECU in and fire it up, it needs to be coded in via VAG COM first

you will need an ECU from an AUQ engined Golf (180bhp) but as for numbers being right/wrong I don't know
