first thing you do when you buy a new car?

Apart from drive it what's the first thing/s you do when you buy a new (or new to you) car?

Just waiting on delivery of my new Scirocco hopefully be here 2 weeks friday, first job is drive up North to get it remapped

Drive it. Definitely take it for a drive. Usually try to make an event out of it - for example when we bought our GTI we took it up to Loch Lomond for a day trip and some lunch. When we bought our MINI JCW it was a picnic in Ayr on the day we collected it.

Depends on how old the car is. First thing upon returning from buying a used car is to give it fresh oil and filter. Obviously check when it was last serviced when looking at it, and even if it's had a recent service, I always give it a proper inspection. Ie; plugs out to check them, air filter out and replace/clean as required, new oil and filter as said, and get it on the ramps to go over everything I couldn't on initial inspection.
