New laptop help
« on: 31 January 2012, 11:46 »
Can someone provide a link to a decent laptop... I am thinking of upgrading in next few month and really need something that is not going to pause and freeze whilst working.  :undecided:

budget... around £1k please

Most of use is through web apps/large excel sheets/music + movie players.. so just your normal stuff but a decent enough screen to handle hi-def films also.

Also has to look cool

For that price, Try HP Envy. Whatever you choose, just make sure you uninstall all the bundled cra*p, or better still, do a fresh Windows install.

... it's turned into a fashion show for poofters.

I've been doing the same mate Asus are really on top at the moment decent ram and graphics cards
I would look at streching the budget to about 1.2K and you should have everything you need as for HP they plan on selling there retail arm so not sure when the support will be over, but gratis to them they are well spec systems for money!

the graphics aren't up to much on that asus. It has a very dated tft screen and it looks a bit pony. This is nearer your original budget and is seriously powerful, has an hd led backlit lcd screen. If it's too big try the second link:
