Do ecu power chips actually work on 2.0 8v?

Do ecu power chips actually work on 2.0 8v? just wondering whether its worth a go? anyone got one? :cool:

Few people have tried em with some pretty good results for the money. Go for the ones where they need your ecu number before they send em out but be aware, out of the 7 different ecu's found in the 8v GTi, 3 of them will need the chip soldering in

Ebay chips = bad news

Most just leave the car on the warm up map and end up causing damage.

Not strictly true Wayne, Someone on here tried one of them £50 ebay jobbers and got good results bhp wise and better mpg. Forget who it was  :undecided:

It was khare I believe and that might be the case but it is still not a great idea, I have seen so many cars with problems after ebay chips.

From memory it was rubjohnny plus I think someone else with a 16v was raving about his  :undecided:
