Guide to reburbing alloys with rattle cans

Has anyone got a guide to doing this?

What type of primer will i need and how many cans of primer will i need?

etch primer for the bare metal, then high build. As for colour I used two 500ml cans but bought three for future touch ups. One 500ml lacquer was good enough. Also don't go cheap on the lacquer, find some that is UV resistant. Mine was about £15 a can
